Maltese karate athletes achieved great success at the 18th edition of the Children’s Chojinkai Karate Tournament in England.
Young athletes from the La Salle Karate Club and Birkirkara Karate Club, part of the Malta Karate Club Federation, won several medals at the competition held in Penrith last weekend.
The awards included five gold medals, four silver, and five bronze – impressive results considering the small size of the Maltese team, which competed against 420 athletes from different countries.
The youngest athlete to win a gold medal was Alice Carabott, who competed in the U7 individual Kata event for the La Salle Karate Club.
