Malta will play host to the 2025 European Pool Championships, as of the 8th of February. This event will be organised by the Maltese Pool Association in collaboration with the European Eight Ball Pool Federation. This marks the tenth time that Malta has been entrusted with organising this prestigious event, demonstrating the country’s established reputation in the world of pool.
Over 700 Players from 10 Nations
The championships will see more than 700 players competing across ten categories, including:
- Men’s Divisions A, B, C, and D
- Women’s Division
- Youth U18
- Youth U23
- Over 50s
- Over 60s
Players will be representing 10 different nations, including:
Belgium, Cyprus, France, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Malta, Portugal, Scotland, and Wales.
Opening Ceremony and Competition Schedule
The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, Saturday, 8th February, at 1:00 PM, followed by the first round of matches at 2:30 PM. The competition will run through to Friday, 14th February, when the individual category finals will take place.
Malta’s Representation and Past Success
Malta will be represented by 11 teams, highlighting the country’s strong presence in the sport. Over the years, Maltese teams have achieved notable success in the European Pool Championships:
- Men’s Category Champions: 2002, 2008, and 2013
- Youth U18 Champions: 1999 and 2023
- Youth U23 Champions: 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2022

The matches will be held at a leading hotel in St. Paul’s Bay, providing a prime setting for players and spectators alike.
