EOC EU Office Launches the SAFE HARBOUR Project

The EOC EU Office is excited to announce the launch of the SAFE HARBOUR project, a project aimed at strengthening safeguarding mechanisms in European sports.

Supported by the Erasmus+ Programme, the project is officially commencing in January 2025 and will run until June 2027. The SAFE HARBOUR project brings together 27 organizations, including the International Olympic Committee, two International Federations, 20 European National Olympic Committees (NOCs), and expert institutions such as Thomas More and the Asser Institute.

Under the coordination of the EOC EU Office, the consortium will address safeguarding concerns through three key phases: assessing current safeguarding practices, developing a European Response Framework, and supporting the implementation of National Strategies. SAFE HARBOUR represents a significant step forward in enhancing the capacity of the European sport movement to respond to safeguarding concerns and violations.
