San Ġiljan remain unbeaten and move step closer to Winter League title

The Water polo Winter League returned after a three week absence with six matches, three from the Premier League and another three from the First Division.

In the match of the weekend on Saturday, San Giljan J Portelli Projects defeated Sliema by 15 goals to 11 with captain Matthew Zammit scoring three goals. San Giljan thus remain unbeaten and are a shoe-in for the title.

Other Premier League results were as follows: Neptunes Izibet 10 Valletta Videoslots 8 whilst Sirens easily defeated Marsaskala ESC by 20 goals to 8 in a one sided encounter.

In the First Division, Birżebbuġia defeated Ta’ Xbiex Amigos by 8 goals to 4 whilst Exiles recorded an easy victory over Barracudas by 25 goals to 6. In the Friday evening match, Otters beat Marsaxlokk MFF 10-7.
