The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Schiavone as Director for Women’s Water Polo. This strategic appointment reflects ASA’s commitment to strengthening and expanding opportunities for female athletes in waterpolo.
Caroline brings a wealth of experience in sports, having represented Malta as a national basketball player. Her background as an athlete, combined with her leadership skills and dedication to sports development, will be instrumental in driving the growth of women’s water polo in Malta.
In her new role, Caroline will focus on enhancing grassroots initiatives, increasing club participation, and building a stronger pathway for female athletes to compete at both national and international levels. She will work closely with clubs, coaches, and stakeholders to create a sustainable and thriving women’s water polo structure.
ASA President Karl Izzo expressed confidence in Caroline’s appointment, stating, “Caroline’s experience and passion for sports make her the ideal candidate to lead this important initiative. We are committed to elevating women’s water polo in Malta, and with Caroline at the helm, we are confident in making significant progress.”
