Thanks to the valued support of Colmic Italia Spa and GoFish (Malta), KSFA member Carmel Quatrocchi is currently representing Malta in the prestigious III Master Colmic Andaluz Corcheo Mar, being held in Algeciras, Spain. The KSFA extends its best wishes to Carmel as he competes amongst some of the top anglers in the region.
Meanwhile, the Kingfisher Sport Fishing Association (KSFA) will be making its voice heard on the global stage next week during the 46th Congress of the International Sport Fishing Confederation (CIPS) and the International Federation of Marine Sport Fishing (FIPS-M) in Slovenia. As a proud member of both CIPS and FIPS-M, the KSFA continues to advocate for the growth and inclusivity of sport fishing in Malta and beyond.
Notably, this year’s congress will include discussions on the formalisation of Rules for Shore Angling for Disabled Members, a cause that aligns strongly with KSFA’s ongoing efforts to support and involve disabled anglers in shore fishing activities. The association remains committed to accessibility, inclusion, and fair competition for all.
Looking ahead, October 2025 will see a five-person team representing Malta at the World Championships for Float Fishing in Menton, France. This marks another significant international engagement for KSFA. In an exciting development, the CIPS 2024 Congress has also approved the KSFA’s proposal for Malta to host the World Championships in 2027, cementing the island’s status as a key player in the international angling community.
With growing involvement across international competitions and governance, the KSFA continues to elevate Malta’s presence in the sport fishing world.
