James Galea Jr claimed the Santa Marija Trap Grand Prix which was held at the Southern Shooting Club.
Galea has now won this event for the second time in a row. He was also declared as the winner in Class A and the Best Shooter of Day 1 of this competition when he hit 71/75.
Nico Sciberras finished second, while Nicholas Carabott ended his competition in third place overall. This event was organised on 2 days, with 3 rounds of 25 targets shot at on Day 1 and another 2 qualifying rounds plus final on Day 2.
The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;
GALEA James Jr 115/125, SCIBERRAS Nico 113/125 +1 shoot-off, CARABOTT Nicholas 113 +0 shoot-off, BUGEJA Ryan
112/125, BUHAGIAR Mario 108/125 and XUEREB Johan 107/125.

Ryan Bugeja was the Best Shooter in Day 2 with 47/50 hits.
The Women’s Category was won by Mariah Busuttil, Nico Sciberras won the Junior Category while Paul Gatt won the Veterans’ Category.
The next scheduled Trap event on the MSSF Programme is the All Malta – 5th Trap Selection Shoot
This competition will be held on Saturday 31 August and on Sunday 01 September 2024 at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.
