In a nail-biting finale, Floriana Cool and Kiwi claimed a hard-fought 9–6 victory over Rosso 33 to win the 4-a-side darts final, capping off an unforgettable season with a performance full of grit, accuracy, and high-level drama. They also achieved a treble of honours as they also clinched the 8-a-side and 5-a-side league.
Led by standout player Norbert Attard, who notched a maximum 180 during the match, Floriana showed depth and resilience across all matchups. Attard, along with teammates Kevin Aquilina, Omar Aquilina and Eucharist Baldacchino, delivered critical wins at key moments to stave off a strong Rosso 33 challenge.
The contest began evenly, with early wins from Attard, Aquilina, and Abdilla giving Floriana the edge. Rosso 33, however, responded fiercely, with Godfrey Abela and Kevin Spiteri producing composed performances to bring their side back into contention. Abela, in particular, was Rosso’s top performer, claiming three individual victories and keeping the tie alive well into the second half of play.
Despite Rosso’s late push, Floriana’s consistency across the board proved decisive. Aquilina and Attard secured crucial back-to-back wins to put their team on the brink, before Omar Aquilina sealed the win in the 15th leg, taking Floriana to an unassailable 9–6 lead.
Rosso 33 — featuring Spiteri, Gordon Stanmore, Tony Borg, and Abela — put up a spirited fight and kept the match tense until the very end. Several legs went down to the wire, with both teams trading checkouts and heavy scoring in what was a true showcase of Maltese darts at its best.
The final was played in a respectful but intense atmosphere, and both teams showed excellent sportsmanship throughout. The highest score of the night — a maximum 180 by Norbert Attard — was a fitting highlight for a match of such calibre.
