Belkin Power DC of Sweden have won the Visit Malta Champions League of Darts, beating Tokol Darts Club of Hungary 4–0 in a one-sided final.
The Swedes controlled the match from the start and allowed the Hungarians few chances to settle. It is the second edition of the tournament, following last year’s staging in Germany.
Thirteen countries took part. Malta was represented by champions Floriana Ajax Sports Club and Domus Darts Club. Denmark’s Aros Darts Club, last year’s winners, returned alongside fellow Danish side Aabenraa Dart Club.
In Group A, Floriana Ajax defeated DFC Relax One 6–0, drew 3–3 with Helios Darts Mures, and lost 4–2 to Aabenraa. In Group B, Domus Darts Club beat DC Nomads Flensburg 5–1, drew 3–3 with Tokol Darts Club, and lost 5–1 to Rambla Steel.
Other participating teams were DFC Relax of Austria, Red Dragon DT of Cyprus, Eesti Darts Lit of Estonia, Perameri DC of Finland, DC Nomads Flensburg of Germany, Tokol Darts Club of Hungary, Rambla Steel of Italy, SMK Priekule of Latvia, Helios Darts Mures of Romania, AD Darts Club Hlohovec of Slovakia, and Belkin Power DC of Sweden.
At the end of the final, Visit Malta chief executive Carlo Micallef presented the trophies to the winners and participants in the presence of Malta Darts Association president Toni Demanuele and the association’s chairman Roderick Zammit.
