St Peter’s Żabbar kicked off the season in style by winning the Super Cup, organised by the Federazzjoni Klabbs tal-Boċċi Maltin, after a narrow 21-20 victory over Għaxaq Boċċi Club.
The match brought together the reigning league champions and the winners of the Tazza tal-Anġlu. Għaxaq started strongly and led 11-3 after the first session. However, Żabbar turned things around after bringing on Emanuel Brignone in place of Vince Galea.
Għaxaq later led 20-16 and were just one point away from winning, but a strong comeback by St Peter’s saw them score crucial points to clinch a dramatic win.
After the match, Federation President Clinton John Saliba presented the trophy to St Peter’s Żabbar captain Conrad Borg.
