The Bocci Clubs Federation (FKB) expressed great satisfaction at being one of the first sports organizations to hold an official meeting with the new Chief Executive Officer of AiMS, Jean Claude Micallef, shortly after his appointment.
During the meeting, several important topics were discussed, including how AiMS plans to support smaller sports federations, such as the Bocci Federation, which enjoys widespread popularity across the Maltese islands. One key topic was the registration requirements imposed by the relevant authorities.
Jean Claude Micallef, CEO of AiMS, emphasized that while he understands that many Bocci clubs are run by a small number of individuals, often voluntarily, it is essential for every club to maintain the highest possible standards. This would strengthen the sport and ensure that Bocci continues to thrive and enjoy its popularity among the Maltese and Gozitan communities. Mr. Micallef also informed the Federation officials that AiMS plans to organize and finance a training course to prepare individuals to become Integrity Officers.
The Bocci Clubs Federation was represented by its President, CJ Saliba, and Carmelo Desira, the President of Għaxaq Bocci Club.
This collaborative initiative reflects AiMS’ commitment to bolstering small but significant sports like Bocci, ensuring their sustainability and growth for future generations.
