UM Wolves RFC Women’s Team crowned national rugby champions

The University of Malta Wolves RFC’s Women’s Team were crowned as Malta’s national women’s rugby champions on Saturday as the domestic season came to a close.

In a close-fought season spread across 10 weekends between October and April, UM Wolves RFC – which is the University of Malta’s officially recognised student-run rugby club – went unbeaten in the second half of the season to claim the league title.

The team were crowned champions on Saturday after they beat opposition Stompers 39-7 with the league title already mathematically secure.

First entering local competition in 2019, UM Wolves RFC’s women’s team was the first women’s team to represent the University of Malta in any national league.  The league title is the first trophy ever won by the young club.
