Following the announcement that the Maltese Olympic Committee won the bid to organise the 45th European Olympic Committees Seminar next October, the formal hosting agreement was signed today towards the end of the 54th EOC General Assembly in Frankfurt, Germany.
The agreement was signed by re-elected President Spyros Capralos and outgoing Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi on behalf of the European Olympic Committees and President Julian Pace Bonello and Secretary General Kevin Azzopardi on behalf of the Maltese Olympic Committee.
The hosting of the EOC Seminar – scheduled to be held between the 3rd and 4th October 2025, follows the successful organisation of the Games of the Small States of Europe in Malta in 2023 and will form part of a number of major international events to be hosted in Malta in the run up to the MOC centenary celebrations in 2028.
The EOC Seminar will feature the participation of all National Olympic Committees in Europe. The newly elected IOC President later this month is also expected to attend the event in Malta.
Julian Pace Bonello, President of the Maltese Olympic Committee, stated that“The signing of this agreement marks another significant milestone for the Maltese Olympic Committee and reinforces Malta’s growing reputation as a host of major international sporting events. Following the success of the Games of the Small States of Europe in 2023, we are honoured to welcome the European Olympic Committees Seminar to our shores. This event will bring together key stakeholders in European sport and provide an excellent platform for collaboration, discussion, and the continued development of the Olympic Movement. As we build towards our centenary celebrations in 2028, we look forward to delivering an exceptional experience for all participants.”
