Naxxar Lions clinched a difficult victory when in a game full of goals they beat Pieta’ Hotspurs 8-6 in the Fuel 10K Youth Futsal League.
After the Lions were trailing before the interval, their reaction was very positive in the second half that they turned the score in their favour and ended up winning the match.
Alexander Matthew Lake scored three goals, Jake Pace netted a brace while Kaydil Mangion, Adam Meli and Kraig Borg were among the scorers.
Pieta’ scored their goals after a hat-trick by Kuylon Aquilina and a brace by Gianluca Camilleri before Zac Borg added another.
Referees were Jonathan Balzan and Sara Kankaras.
Marsaxlokk won the southern derby of Malta when they beat Birżebbuġa 8-2.
Marsaxlokk had Liam Galea who stood out after scoring four goals while Luca Grima accomplished a personal hat-trick. Dejean Galea tied the score for his team.
Luis Rapce scored the only two goals for Birżebbuġa.
