Tough weekend for Ayrton John Tonna at ROK Cup Italy Round 3, Franciacorta

Ayrton John Tonna endured a challenging weekend at Round 3 of the ROK Cup Italy, held at the Franciacorta Karting Track. Despite showing promising pace in the lead-up sessions and heading into race day with confidence, things didn’t unfold as planned on Sunday.

A mistake in qualifying set Ayrton back significantly, placing him in P21 on the grid and making the road ahead a tough one. In Race 1, after making a decent start, he slipped to P28 by the end of the opening lap. However, displaying resilience, he recovered several positions to finish in P23.

Race 2 proved to be even more testing. Early contact dropped Ayrton to the back of the field in P31. From there, he showed determination and grit, working his way up the order to eventually cross the finish line in P24.

While the results were not what Ayrton John Tonna and his team were aiming for, he remains focused on taking the positives from the weekend, learning from the setbacks, and continuing to move forward.

Special thanks go to Ayrton’s father, mechanic, mentor, and coach Jonathan Tonna, whose dedication and sacrifices play a pivotal role in his motorsport journey. Ayrton also expressed gratitude to the 2M Kart Racing Team, Matteo Mazzucchelli, and Roberto Piovani for their invaluable support.

Ayrton John Tonna further extended appreciation to his sponsors: Visit Malta, Fat Harry’s Pub – Bugibba, The Chapels, and Kettles.
