Maltese karting talent Jake Jordan Micallef achieved a major milestone at the WSK Final Cup in Franciacorta, Italy. Competing against one of the most competitive grids in the world, Micallef finished in the top 12 out of 68 drivers, marking a significant step in his karting career.
The event featured a demanding schedule, starting with practice sessions where Micallef secured P10, followed by a challenging qualifying session that saw him place 19th in his group and 38th overall. Despite the tough start, he remained focused and determined to climb through the ranks in the heats.
Micallef’s performance steadily improved across the three heats. He moved from 19th to 17th in Heat 1, from 19th to 14th in Heat 2, and from 19th to 9th in Heat 3. The merged heats saw him finish 11th in his group and 22nd overall.
In the prefinal, Micallef advanced from 11th to 9th, and the combined result of the heats and prefinal positioned him 18th for the final. Demonstrating skill, consistency, and determination, he pushed forward in the final race to finish 12th overall, a remarkable achievement given the strength of the competition.
