Malta struck gold once again in table tennis as Maria-Carmelia Iacob and Renata Strbikova successfully defended their women’s doubles title at the Games of the Small States of Europe, defeating Cyprus 3-0 in a commanding final performance.
Their victory added another prestigious gold to Malta’s growing medal tally and reaffirmed their status as one of the top pairings in the competition.
There was further success for Malta in the men’s doubles event, where the national team claimed a well-earned bronze medal. Although they fell short of reaching the final, the Maltese pair displayed resilience and skill to finish on the podium, ensuring that both the men’s and women’s teams contributed to Malta’s medal count in table tennis.
