New champion Max Verstappen commented on the alleged withdrawal of Hamilton.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is obviously disappointed after missing the eighth title in the Formula 1 championship, considering that the first man of Mercedes, Toto Wolff, stated that the question is whether Hamilton will continue to drive in Formula 1.
However, Verstappen believes that this will not happen.
- I can understand that he is disappointed because only a few days have passed since the race. But you should know that this is a race and that such things happen. He should look at everything he has achieved so far. That will surely give him a lot of consolation – he still wants to fight for the eighth title and he will certainly be competitive next year. I see no reason why he should announce the end of his F1 career now, said Max Verstappen.
- I can’t say that I feel sorry for him, but I understand that it is very painful to lose the title in such a way. He also won the title that way, said the new F1 champion.
