Clive Mizzi concludes two-year spell as Melita Head Coach – Gżira United likely next destination

Today, Melita and Clive Mizzi announced via social media that their two-year collaboration has come to an end. The partnership had seen Melita earn promotion to the Malta Premier League and battle valiantly to avoid relegation until the final moments of the season. However, following their immediate relegation back to the Challenge League, both parties have decided to part ways and take different paths.

Despite the disappointment of relegation, Mizzi’s time with Melita is widely seen as a positive one. This season, the team showed notable performances during the Opening Round, achieving impressive wins and results, even though the squad was made up largely of young and inexperienced players at this level.

Both Mizzi and the club expressed their gratitude to one another for the past two years of collaboration. Reliable sources indicate that Clive Mizzi is expected to remain in top-flight football, with Gżira United identifying the 52-year-old as their top choice to lead their technical project for the upcoming season.

During the recent Closing Round, Gżira United were coached by Giovanni Tedesco, but it has already been confirmed that he will not continue in that role under the leadership of club president Sharlon Pace.

While no official confirmation has been issued yet, discussions between Mizzi and Gżira United are believed to be at an advanced stage.
