PUNISHMENT AFTER 16 YEARS? Rooney admits "trampling", FA seeks explanation!

The Football Association of England (FA) asked for clarification from Wayne Rooney, who revealed that in April 2006, while playing for Manchester United against Chelsea, he wanted and managed to injure an opposing player.

In an interview with the British media, Rooney said that before the game at Stamford Bridge in 2006, he changed the crampons on his football boots and put on “long metal” because he intended to “hurt someone”.

– We knew that if Chelsea won, they would win the title that day. For that match, I took long, metal crampons, the maximum length I could because I wanted to try to hurt someone. I knew they were going to win that game. They could be seen to be better, so I changed the crampons. They were allowed, but thinking about the duels, I knew that I wanted to get into one in the right way, which I did – said Rooney.

Chelsea won 3-0 and won the championship that season.

– John Terry left the stadium on crutches. I made a hole in his foot and then gave him my signed jersey. After a few weeks, I asked him to return the crampon to me – stated the coach of Derby County.

Responding to Rooney’s statement, Terry wrote on social media on Monday, with a few smiling emojis: “Wayne Rooney, was that when you left a crampon in my foot?”.

In 2002, the FA fined the then Manchester United player Roy Keane 150,000 pounds and a five-match suspension after he admitted in his autobiography that he intentionally injured City Alfa player Inge Haaland in April 2001.
