First Greek side to win a UEFA trophy. Another heartache for Fiorentina

Olympiacos become the first side in Europe to simultaneously hold a European trophy at both senior and youth levels. This is the first senior European club trophy for Greek football. A goal by El Kaabi, right when a penalty shoot-out was nearing closer, decided this cagey, tight affair between two sides with similar characteristics. Mendilibar proves again that he has the Midas touch: after arriving in mid-season, he went on to win another European trophy.
Olympiacos’ win tonight is only their second victory in their last eight matches against Italian clubs (L6). They have also now won eight of their last ten UEFA competition matches (L2) and they are the first team to win a major UEFA competition final in their own country since Feyenoord in 2002.
El Kaabi the match winner will remember this final since he scored his 16th European goal of an incredible season.
