German coach Tomas Tuchel, who leads the Chelsea team, criticized the club’s leaders for investing too little money in reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
The reason for his disappointment is the defeat of his team in Orlando against Arsenal (0:4), and Tuchel was visibly dissatisfied after the match.
“I don’t remember the last time I lost two matches in a row during the preparations. Those matches are very important to me, because I think they are important for the atmosphere, feeling, harmony and confidence of the team. “We were not mentally in the game, which is not surprising since a large number of players are thinking about leaving the club,” said Tuchel.
During this transfer window, Chelsea brought in Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling.
“Arsenal played the best they could, they went to the limits of mental exhaustion, because they were focused on the game. We cannot hope for anything else while this is the situation in the club. Why would anything change with the same players in the team? Everyone in the club needs to get together and change something, because this is not good. The only bright spot was Koulibaly, who played flawlessly. We were outplayed by a team that won’t play in the Champions League at all,” Tuchel pointed out.
Chelsea is waiting for a friendly match against Udinese on Friday.
When it comes to the Premier League, the London club will play away to Everton on August 6 in the first round of the new season.
