Tadic's Impending Departure Sends Shockwaves Through Netherlands: Besiktas Move Looms

The speculations surrounding Dusan Tadic’s potential departure from Ajax have transformed into a plausible reality, shaking the Netherlands football scene to its core. What once seemed like a distant dream now appears to be inching closer to fruition.

Reports from Dutch sources suggest that there is a strong likelihood of the club captain and Serbian national team player bidding farewell to Ajax during this summer transfer window.

The discontent stems from Tadic’s alleged dissatisfaction with the performance of the new sporting director, Sven Milsintat, who took the reins after a tumultuous season that saw Ajax fall short of their expected standards. The team’s underwhelming on-field displays resulted in their exclusion from the upcoming edition of the esteemed Champions League, forcing the club to undertake cost-cutting measures. The absence of Champions League revenue will lead to a significant decrease of at least 30-40 million euros in the Dutch giant’s income.

Tadic’s discontent extends further to Ajax’s lackluster transfer activity thus far, with only young Benjamin Tahirovic from Roma (€8.5 million) and Marko van de Bomen from Toulouse joining the ranks as a free agent. The team captain firmly believes that Ajax requires more impactful and high-profile reinforcements following the departures of key players last summer, which undoubtedly contributed to the team’s disappointing performance.

Additionally, Tadic expresses disappointment over the replacement of Johnny Heitinga, whose arrival had notably revitalized the team. The relatively unknown Morris Stein has been brought in as his successor, raising eyebrows within the squad.

Conversely, Mislintat is keen on offloading the seasoned playmaker, given his substantial annual salary of 3.5 million euros, which places a significant burden on the budget.

Consequently, the growing interest from Besiktas holds considerable weight. It is rumored that Tadic has requested a salary of 4.5 million euros from the Turkish club. However, progress on this front remains contingent upon the resolution of the situation between the captain and Ajax.

The days ahead will be crucial in determining the future of Tadic and Ajax, as pivotal decisions loom on the horizon.
