Lazio secured their third consecutive victory in all competitions with a thrilling 5-1 win against Como on Thursday evening. The match, which saw both teams reduced to 10 players, featured goals from Taty Castellanos, Pedro, Luca Mazzitelli, Patric and Loum Tchaouna, as well as another assist from the in-form Nuno Tavares.
Castellanos scored his sixth goal of the season just before the half-hour mark. A corner kick from Lazio caused chaos in Como’s penalty area, and after initially playing on, the referee eventually awarded a penalty after VAR confirmed that Alberto Dossena had handled the ball. Castellanos confidently converted the penalty into the top left corner, sending Audero the wrong way.
Three minutes later, Pedro doubled Lazio’s lead with a goal assisted by Nuno Tavares, who has now provided eight assists in eight Serie A matches. In the 40th minute, there was some confusion as the referee showed a red card, but it was later clarified that the card was for a member of Como’s staff, not Pedro.

Como managed to get back into the game early in the second half when Mazzitelli scored a brilliant goal from an unlikely angle. However, their hopes were short-lived as Matthias Braunöder was sent off for a second yellow card, and Nuno Tavares followed him three minutes later, also receiving a second yellow. The rest of the match was played with both teams down to 10 players.
Lazio continued to dominate and added a third goal through Patric’s header from a corner kick. Como had several chances to get back in the game, but Yannick Engelhardt, Patrick Cutrone and Alberto Cerri were unable to convert. Lazio punished them in the 88th minute when Castellanos scored his seventh goal of the season after an impressive counter-attack. Tchaouna sealed the victory for Lazio with a goal in the final moments of the game.
With this win, Lazio moved up to fifth place in the Serie A table, level on points with Fiorentina. Both teams overtook Juventus, who drew their match against Parma. Como, on the other hand, remain in 14th place with nine points from their first 10 games.
