Como earned their third away win in a row with an impressive 3-0 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. The result means Lazio have now failed to win any of their last five home matches.
Lazio came into the game hoping to build on their recent win away at Verona, but they fell behind after just two minutes. Martin Baturina scored with a shot from outside the box that took a big deflection and went past the goalkeeper.
The match stayed fairly quiet after the early goal, with few clear chances. However, Como were much more effective when they attacked and doubled their lead midway through the first half. Nico Paz reacted quickly to a loose ball in the box and scored from close range. Lazio had a chance to reduce the deficit before half-time, but Ivan Provedel saved Paz’s penalty.
Lazio made a poor start to the second half and conceded again just four minutes after the restart. Baturina set up Paz with a clever backheel, and Paz curled a fine shot into the bottom corner to make it 3-0.
After that, Lazio showed little fight, while Como looked comfortable and even threatened to score again. The visitors saw out the match with ease and now sit five points clear inside the top six. Lazio’s hopes of qualifying for European competition continue to fade, as they are now nine points behind Como.
