Vitor Roque is joining Barcelona for the remainder of the season. While the Catalans secured the talented forward’s services last summer, he remained on loan at Atletico Paranaense.
Originally committed until 2031 with a €500 million buyout clause, Vitor was speculated to stay in Brazil until the summer of 2024. However, poor form from Robert Lewandowski altered Barcelona’s plans, and the 18-year-old Brazilian will spend the second half of the season in Catalonia.
Roque has impressed this season, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists in 45 appearances. Barcelona has also decided to activate the clause for Riad Chadi and bring him back from Real Betis starting next summer, with Betis receiving compensation of approximately €7 million.
