The majority owner of the Spanish first division Valladolid, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima, spoke after his team’s match against Sevilla in the 34th round of the Spanish La Liga.
Yesterday, Valladolid was defeated at home by Sevilla 3:0, but the main referee of the match, Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias, was in the center of attention.
The referee played at the end of the first half and disallowed the home team’s goal even though the ball rattled the Sevilla net.
“What happened at our stadium is unacceptable. Until now, we have been silent, trying to justify our dissatisfaction through official means, meetings and petitions, avoiding public exposure. But there is much more. This is professional football and we demand explanations. Such mistakes can change the whole season”, wrote Ronaldo on social networks.
Valladolid is currently in 17th place in the table with 35 points and is only one point ahead of Getafe, which is in the relegation zone.
“Let one thing be clear. We will fight against everything and everyone, because we are Valladolid. Our team, our fans and our city have given everything and no one will take that away from us,” said Ronaldo.
In the next round, Valladolid will host Cadiz, and there are still four rounds left until the end of the Spanish La Liga.
