The former French national team player, Franck Ribéry, announced today that, at the age of 39, he is ending his professional football career.
In previous years, he had many problems with injuries, which is why he decided to end his career before the end of the current season.
“The pain in my knee only got worse and the doctors are clear: I have no choice anymore; I have to stop playing. So I have to put an end to my career, “Ribéry said in a video posted on social media.
Franck Ribery had a fantastic career during which he played for Boulogne, Olympique Ale, Brest, Metz, Galatasaray, Marseille, Bayern Munich, Fiorentina, and he played his last games for Salernitana.
He experienced his peak with Bayern, for whom he played from 2007 to 2019 and with whom he won 23 trebles, including the Champions League.
He played 81 games for the French national team and scored 16 goals.
