The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, believes that Liverpool is still his team’s biggest rival in the race for the championship title.
In the derby of the 11th round of the Premier League, City will host Liverpool, and despite the fact that the “citizens” have 13 points more than the “reds”, the Spaniard believes that Klopp’s team has not been written off.
“If you asked that question with 10 games to go, I would say that Liverpool cannot reach the top. But when we are in the position we are now with the World Cup, anything can happen. I know what quality they have. It was always a difficult game and I don’t expect anything else,” said Guardiola.
The two-time back-to-back champions of England are currently in second place with 23 points, while Liverpool are in 10th place with 10 points.
“A few months ago, Liverpool was fighting for four titles, they had more shots, possession, everything and they lost in the final. This is the same team, the same coach, things can change. It’s part of the competition. I don’t look at good or bad moments, I analyze them as a team, always expecting the best from them,” added Guardiola.
The match at “Enfield” will be played on Sunday at 17:30.
