Fenerbahce footballer Mesut Ozil clarified where he would like to end his career and dispelled doubts about going “across the pond”.
The former German national team player was connected with going to the American MLS league, more precisely the Inter team from Miami led by David Beckham, German media report.
Ozil denied media reports and noted that he had signed a three-year contract with Fenerbahce and that he would end his career there.
– I have to give an official statement regarding my career in order to deny the writing of certain media. I achieved the goal in my career by signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with Fenerbahce. That club is my childhood love and I want to stay, even though I didn’t get paid during the first six months of my stay at the club – Ozil wrote on social media and added:
– I emphasize again – I do not want to end my career in any other club except Fener. Until the end of the contract, I will only wear the Fenerbahce jersey, my decision is clear and final. The main thing is Fenerbahce – the German football player concluded.
He signed for Fenerbahce in January 2021. This season, he played 26 games, scored nine goals, and recorded two assists.
Before arriving in Istanbul, Ozil played for Arsenal, Real, Werder, and Schalke.
