OSASUNA KICKED OUT OF EUROPE: Bilbao completes the Conference League

Spanish La Liga member Osasuna has been kicked out of the Conference League following allegations of match-fixing in the 2013/2014 season.

After the investigation, the European Football Union kicked Osasuna out of the Conference League for the 2023/24 season, and the reason for the investigation was allegations of match-fixing in the season from 10 years ago.

“Clu received the report of the investigative actions conducted by the UEFA Control and Ethics Committee as well as the UEFA Disciplinary Committee. The report states that the ineligibility of the club to play in the Conference League next season has been established, even though we won a place in that competition in a fair and sporting manner on the field.” the club said on its website.

Then came the response to UEFA’s decision:

“The strong before the weak and the weak before the strong, UEFA did not even want to take into account the fact that the Spanish court itself judged in its verdict that the club was a victim of a few people who worked to the detriment of the club.”

They will be replaced in the Conference League by eighth-placed Athletic Bilbao, if the appeal filed by Osasuna is not accepted.
