Orthodox Wizards claimed the FAL Knock-Out Competition title after overcoming Masters R United with a convincing 5-2 victory in an entertaining final played at the Għargħur Ground.
Sponsored by Meridianbet, the Wizards dominated possession for long spells and constantly threatened the goal of Masters’ goalkeeper Brandon Laudi. Despite their early pressure, it was Masters R United who struck first through Jean Claude Borg, whose low drive found the back of the net past Branko Vrndic.

The lead, however, was short-lived. Orthodox Wizards responded swiftly and drew level when Alexander Ribic coolly converted a penalty.
After the break, it was Nikola Neskovic who took centre stage, delivering a sensational performance with a quickfire hat-trick. Dusan Petrovic also got on the scoresheet to extend the Wizards’ lead and put the match beyond doubt.
Masters R United managed a late consolation when Leandro Almeida headed home to make it 5-2, but the damage had already been done.
At the final whistle, FAL co-organizer Andrew Anthony Agius presented the trophy to Orthodox Wizards captain Alexander Ribic, capping off a memorable evening for the newly crowned champions.
