Newcastle is a potential miracle: 5 goals to Aston Villa, Tonali's debut!

Newcastle are not kidding, not at all.

St. James Park saw a magnificent Magpies display in their Premier League opener with a 5-1 (2-1) win over Aston Villa.

Already in the sixth minute, Sandro Tonali gave Newcastle the lead. He followed up a great cross sent by Anthony Gordon and sent the ball into the net from the first.

Villa equalized in the 11th minute. Ollie Watkins’ header was converted by Moussa Diaby.

It only took five minutes for the home team to respond. This time the scorer was Alexander Isak. The visitors’ goalkeeper had no chance, Isak reacted brilliantly in the penalty area.

The first half was also marked by a serious injury to Tyrone Mings, who was taken out of the stadium on a stretcher after seven or eight minutes of assistance on the field.

Isak shook Villa’s net again in the 58th minute after a big mistake by the visitors’ defense, and in the 77th, Callum Wilson joined the scorers, who easily beat the goalkeeper from close range.

The final score was set in the first minute of stoppage time.

Harvey Barnes had a lot of space in the penalty area and without hesitation sent the ball into the goal for 5:1.

In the second round, Newcastle will host Manchester City. Aston Villa will welcome Everton.
