Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was disappointed by the defeat of Everton in the 15th round of the Premier League.
Arsenal took the lead with a goal by Martin Odegaard in the first half, but Richarlison scored for the equalizer in the 79th minute, and then Demarai Gray brought victory to Everton in the second minute of extra time.
“I am very disappointed. We were not constant in the first half, we did not threaten the opponent enough. When we finally did that, Martin scored. In the second part, we were supposed to grab the game. But again, in key moments, we were sloppy, “said the Spanish expert.
“We created four big chances, and when you don’t put them in the net away from home it’s very complicated to win the game. Especially if you concede goals the way we did… It’s hard because we lost at Old Trafford. We were at a higher level now, but we were not consistent enough.”
Mikel did not hide his dissatisfaction with the way his team played in the attack.
After the second consecutive defeat, Arsenal is in seventh place with 23 points.
