MESSI: Team awards are more important to me than the Ballon d'Or

After winning the eighth Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi answered the question of what this award means to him.

In an interview with the French L’Équipe, he pointed out that the awards he gets with the teams mean much more to him than individual awards.

“Of course, the Golden Ball is a very valuable award because of its prestige. But I’ve always said that the team awards are the most important to me. I was lucky enough to win every possible trophy with Barcelona, but also with the Argentine national team. And that’s the most important thing to me. Ending your career in Europe with all those trophies is something incredible. However, the Ballon d’Or is a very special award,” said Messi.
