Paris Saint-Germain footballer Lionel Messi commented on the influence of former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola on football.
The Argentine worked with Guardiola in Barcelona from 2008 to 2012.
“Guardiola did a lot of damage to football because there was a feeling that what we were doing in Barcelona was so simple that everyone wanted to copy it. After our games, I saw Guardiola’s ideas in many clubs, but…” Messi said.
After Barcelona, Guardiola was coached by Bayern, and since 2016 he has been the manager of Manchester City.
