TVMSport has reported this morning on their portal that Police investigations are closing in on a particular individual who has been banned already for life from all football-related activities.
The case evolves around the Amateur League 1 match between Attard and Qormi FC which was played on 25th October, 2025.
TVMSport reported; ‘The police are investigating an alleged match-fixing case in Attard’s 7–4 win over Qormi. The BOV Amateur League I match was played on October 25, with coach Jesmond Zerafa walking out after the game and eventually resigning from his position’

The report added; ‘TVMSport has learned that the person allegedly involved in the match-fixing is a former football player who has been banned for life from all football-related activities’
The PBS Sports section went on to add; ‘It was the Malta FA that informed the police about this alleged case of match-fixing. Investigators are following up on information that more than $80,000 were won on an Asian betting site related to this match. Their work is focusing on the number of goals scored in the game — a total of 11 goals. The police investigation is still ongoing’
