Malta to play Slovenia and Belarus at National Stadium

The Malta FA said in a statement that it was pleased to announce the opening matches for our National Team in this new year 2024.

As is customary, the initial international window of the year takes place in March.

The MFA said that the next competition for the Malta National Team is envisaged later in the year, with the next edition of League D in the UEFA Nations League, scheduled for Autumn, all preceded by the draw for this fourth edition, which is set to take place in Paris on Thursday 8 February 2024.

Meanwhile, and as part of the preparation for this hugely anticipated next competition later in the year, the Malta FA has just announced opponents for home-friendly matches at Ta’ Qali National Stadium during this upcoming March international window.

Malta vs Slovenia – Thursday 21st March 2024 –kick-off time 19:00hrs

Malta vs Belarus – Tuesday 26th March 2024 –kick-off time 19:00hrs

Slovenia: Malta so far has played Slovenia 8 times, won none, drew one, and lost 7.

Our most recent engagement took place in October 2021 where we lost 4-0 at Ta’ Qali in a World Cup Qualifier.

Belarus: To date, Malta played Belarus 4 times, won none, drew 1, and lost 3.

Our most recent engagement against Belarus was held in February 2008 where we lost 1-0 in Ta’ Qali, a fixture valid for the Rothmans International Tournament.
