San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy won the Twanny Agius Good Conduct Cup when they beat Ta’ Ġiorni Wanderers in the final after the penalty shoot-out.
This was the second edition of this competition that commemorates the late MAFA president Twanny Agius and brought together four teams that received the fewest yellow and red cards during the last season.
In the semi-finals, San Gwann Pro Evolution beat Balluta Barracudas 1-0 with the only goal being scored by Alex Bodin.
Even Ta’ Giorni Wanderers got the same score against Naxxar Victorians with the winning goal coming through Leonard Farrugia.
The final between San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy and Ta’ Giorni Wanderers resulted in a very balanced one with the final score being 1-1.
It was San Ġwann who drew first blood through Elyas Ngombe but a few minutes later, Neeraj Bharwani equalized the score. With the game finishing 1-1, in the penalty shoot-out, it was San Gwann who won 5-4.
At the end of the match, Mary Agius, Twanny Agius’s wife, presented the cup to the San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy captain.
