Marsa St Michael and Għaxaq Wolves share spoils in balanced match

In the main clash from the MAFA First Division, Marsa St Michael and Għaxaq Wolves shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

The game reached its climax in the first half when four goals were scored two from each side.

Lamin Jaiteh put Marsa St Michael ahead after eight minutes of play so that Diego Fernando Pereira equalized for Għaxaq Wolves in the 21st minute.

Jaiteh scored another goal for Marsa although Zvezdan Vukovic scored the equalizing goal on injury time before the first half.

Despite the attacks from both teams in the second half, the score remained unchanged so they each took a point.

San Ġiljan Saints got their first win of the season after beating neighbours Ta’ Giorni Wanderers 2-0.

The Saints were determined to get maximum points from this encounter and went ahead in the 13th minute through Ionut Popescu so that a minute before the end of the first half, Jamie Bowlby Whiting doubled the score for his team.

Senglea Gunners climbed to first place in the second division league table when they got a good 4-1 win against Ħal Far Titans.

Protagonist for the Cottonera side was Glenn Bonello who scored a hat-trick in the 11th, 32nd and 58th minutes with Nenad Stankic adding another for his team.

Ħal Far, who are still looking for their first points in this league, reduced the scoring margin by David Rizzo.

Attard Edex Kings got their second consecutive victory after beating Hamrun Amateurs 2-0.

The Attard side scored two goals in 12 minutes with which they closed the game. Ali Oularbi scored two goals to help his team get the three important points to his team.

Qajjeza ACJ got their first win of the season when they beat Mosta Vikings 3-1.

It was a very interesting game with its highlight being reached in the first half.

Precious Tenebe put Qajjenza on top through a penalty so that Ronnie Celeste doubled the score. Darren Bartoli reduced the scoring margin from another penalty so that Celeste notched a personal double and gave the victory to his team.
