LEAGUE OF NATIONS: Italy resisted attacks on the "Island", the Netherlands missed the penalty for victory!

The players of England and Italy drew 0: 0 in Wolverhampton, in the third round of Division A of the League of Nations.

This is the first match after the final of the European Championship since last year, when Italy defeated England and won the title of champion.

It was a high pace from the very start of the match. Both teams had a lot of opportunities, but they did not manage to use them. The home team had more initiative in the second half, they attacked more, but Italy managed to defend.

As the match drew to a close, England put more and more pressure on the goal defended by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the Italians resisted the pressure and the match ended 0-0.

Due to the omission in the organization of the European Championship, England was punished, so only under-14s could attend this match, accompanied by a guardian, and there were about three thousand spectators.

England did not manage to win this year’s edition of the League of Nations. After three rounds, they have two draws – against Germany and Italy and a draw – against Hungary. Italy, on the other hand, has two draws and a win.

It will be against Hungary, at this same stadium, in Wolverhampton, that they will have the opportunity to reach their first victory in the League of Nations this year.

In the same period, Hungary and Germany drew 1: 1.

The Hungarians took the lead through Nagy in the sixth minute, and only three minutes later Hofmann managed to equalize the “Panzers”.

Despite a lot of chances on both sides – both teams had as many as nine shots on goal, in the end there were no more goals.

In group four, the Netherlands and Poland also played a draw (2: 2), as did their rivals from Wales and Belgium (1: 1).

The Poles led 2-0 with goals from Cash in the 18th and Zelenika in the 49th minute, but the Netherlands equalized in just three minutes.

Klaassen scored first in the 51st minute, and immediately after that Dumfries in the 54th minute to equalize. “Tulips” had a great chance to completely reverse the match in the first minute of overtime.

The referee pointed to the strictest penalty, but Memphis Depay hit the post and the Dutch only got to the point.

Belgium took the lead in Wales from the 51st minute with a goal by Tielemans. But Wales reached the point in the 87th minute with a goal by Johnson.

The Netherlands is first in the group with seven points, followed by Belgium and Poland with four points each, while Wales is last with one point.
