The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, is dissatisfied with the treatment his team receives from the referees in the Champions League.
During the session of the club’s assembly, he made a series of criticisms against the European referees, which he said had damaged Barcelona.
The first on the wallpaper was Slovenian Slavko Vincic, as well as the referee in the VAR room, Dutchman Pol van Boekel.
Laporta accused Vincic of not playing a clean penalty for Barcelona after Denzel Dumfries’ handball.
“Also, the referee in the VAR room didn’t react either, he already denied us a clean penalty against Dembele in Munich. I saw a clear penalty against Levandovski, but they didn’t play that either. It’s really embarrassing. That’s why I’m firmly in favor of forming a Superliga, because it will be much more professional”, complains Laporta.
The first man of Barcelona says that the placement in the knockout phase of the elite UEFA competition is of crucial importance.
“I am realistic. With the players we have, we all think we can beat Inter, Bayern and Viktoria Plzen. All we have to do is qualify. We have to encourage Ćavi and the players to do something like that,” concluded Laporta
