Norwegian striker Erling Haaland made a transfer this summer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City for 60 million euros, and although he was the main player of the German club, sports director Sebastian Kehl believes that his sale is a smart decision by the club.
The former midfielder and now the director of the club from Dortmund believes that the atmosphere in the team is different after the departure of the Norwegian striker.
“As much as we appreciated him, with everything he did for the club, he definitely became a burden, both for the dressing room and for the club. Basically, everything revolved around him. It was precisely for this reason that it was time to sell it, it was a good thing for us and for Siti. This is confirmed by the fact that ten goals for our club this season were scored by ten different scorers,” said Kehl.
We will see what Haaland’s reaction will be after this statement, especially since a duel between his former club and City in the Champions League is expected soon.
In the Millionaire jersey, the Norwegian won the German Cup, and scored 86 goals in 89 matches played.
