The talented striker, Josh Maja, is returning to the English field. More precisely, he signed a contract with Stoke City on the last day of the transfer window.
Josh is remembered by English football fans for his time in Sunderland. Namely, in the first season of professional football, he scored only one goal in 17 games, and in the second season, he scored 15 goals in 24 matches.
He became best known for the saga of the transfer to Bordeaux, which was shown in the documentary “Sunderland ‘Till I Die”.
Joshua made it possible to transfer to France, where he defended the colors of Bordeaux for three seasons. However, he did not manage to score a double-digit number of goals in any season, and he will not remember his stay in League 1 for its great games.
A year ago, he also came to Fulham during the winter transfer window. However, at Craven Cottage, the only good things they saw from him were two goals, not a debut against Everton. He scored another goal by the end of the season, but that was not enough for Fulham to stay in the league, so Maja did not stay in London either.
Maja is now arriving in Stoke in the hope that she will help them reach the playoffs. Due to poor results in the previous period, the team dropped to 12th place. However, they are still within six points of the playoff zone.
