UKRAINE……..1
In the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League Group B1, Georgia hosted Ukraine, with the match finishing 1-1.
Georgia had an early push but was denied by Ukraine’s defense, as attempts from Budu Zivzivadze and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed the mark. Ukraine took the lead in the 7th minute, when Mykhailo Mudryk’s cross deflected off Saba Kvirkvelia into his own net.
The first half ended with Ukraine ahead. In the second half, Georgia coach Willy Sagnol made a key substitution, bringing Zuriko Davitashvili on for Giorgi Chakvetadze. Davitashvili almost equalized right away, but his effort, following a pass from Kvaratskhelia, went wide.
A controversial moment occurred in the 66th minute when Kochorashvili collided with a Ukrainian defender in the penalty box, but no penalty was awarded.
Georgia equalized in the 76th minute. After Otar Kakabadze’s cross, Kochorashvili’s shot was saved, but Giorgi Mikautadze pounced on the rebound to make it 1-1.
The group’s outcome will be decided on November 19 when Georgia faces the Czech Republic away
