Villarreal has officially announced the return of Pepe Reina, who will take on the role of youth team coach in the División de Honor. After more than 25 years as a professional footballer, Reina has decided to embark on a new chapter in football as a coach.
His new career will begin in Villarreal’s youth sector, where he will coach the Under-19 team, which will also compete in the UEFA Youth League. The club and Reina had already agreed on a long-term plan for his return, in keeping with Villarreal’s tradition of involving former players to strengthen its youth academy.
Reina joins one of the most prestigious youth setups in Spanish football, taking on a key role within the club’s structure.
