Bruno Fernandes has earned praise from fellow passengers after helping a man who collapsed during a flight to Lisbon on Monday. The Manchester United captain, who had a standout performance in United’s 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Sunday, was en route to Portugal to join the national team for upcoming Nations League matches against Poland and Croatia.
Passenger Susanna Lawson shared details of the incident with UK outlet Business Cloud, explaining that she heard a call for help after Fernandes had gone to the rear of the plane. “Bruno was holding a man who appeared to be fainting. I’m not sure if he lost consciousness,” Lawson said. “There was an empty seat at the back, and Bruno helped the man sit down. He stayed with him to make sure he was okay.”
Portugal will play Poland at home on Friday, before traveling to Croatia on November 18.
