Former international player Andre’ Schembri recently announced his start of his professional coaching career in Cyprus
“I’m thrilled to announce that I have signed my first contract as a professional football coach with Anagennisi Deryneias FC in the Cypriot Second Division. This is an incredible opportunity and a challenge that I’m eagerly looking forward to”, Schembri wrote on Facebook.
Schembri has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the club.
He is at the back of a two-year experience as coach of Apollon Limassol’s U-19’s side, serving as assistant coach for the first team for a short period of time.
The Maltese coach is expected in Cyprus at the end of the week where he will officially assume his duties.
Anagennisi Deryneias, are based in Famagusta and finished second in last season’s third-tier, securing one of the promotion spots.
Schembri thanked everyone who supported him on this journey concluding that he was looking forward to the challenge ahead.
