The coach of the Swedish national team, Jane Anderson, attracted the attention of the public by declaring that on Wednesday, he will announce whether Milan’s footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović will be on the list of players for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Belgium and Azerbaijan, local media reports.
Ibrahimović returned to the field at the end of February after a nine-month break due to knee surgery.
“You will see on Wednesday whether Zlatan will be on the list or not. “I have already said that Ibrahimovic can help if he is healthy and fit, although he may not be in the starting line-up,” Anderson said.
The Milan forward played 121 matches for the Swedish national team and scored 62 goals.
He retired from the national team in 2016, but returned to the national team in 2021 in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar.
The Milan footballer played his last match for Sweden on March 29 last year in a match with Poland (1:1).
Sweden is in Group F of the 2024 European Championship qualification with Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium and Estonia.
