Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso could take over the Olympiakos team in the next season, which, despite big investments, failed to win the title in Greece.
Olympiakos finished the season in the Super League of Greece in third place in the table with ten points less than the first-placed AEK from Athens, so the management of the club from Piraeus started looking for a new coach.
It is certain that the French coach Jose Anigo has finished his mission at the Greek club, and his replacement could be the former coach of Milan, Gennaro Gattuso.
Olympiakos appointed the Frenchman as a temporary solution following the departure of Mitchell Gonzalez from the club a month ago.
The choice apparently fell on Gattuso, who was last employed in Valencia, and before that he managed Napoli, Milan, Pisa, OFI, Palermo and Sion.
The Italian was also mentioned last month as a possible solution, but after the end of the season in the club from Piraeus, they are determined to offer a contract to the former winner of the Italian Cup with Napoli in 2020.
